Celebrate Sant Joan in Barcelona

Once again we receive the summer with one of the shortest and most magical nights of the year: Sant Joan, a traditional holiday in Catalonia that begins on Friday 23 at night.

Barcelona is full of people of all ages who celebrate the arrival of good weather with family dinners, party with friends, bonfires, fireworks and firecrackers that illuminate the whole city.

We live the celebration very close, right in front of the Hotel Barcelona Princess, the beach is full of people with their bonfires and music.

And in the heart of the city, the Hotel Negresco Princess doesn’t miss anything, just 10 minutes from Plaça Sant Jaume, where the party begins with the Flama of the Canigó and the representatives of each neighborhood turn on all the different bonfires of the city.

Another of the essential of this Catalan festival is the traditional Coca de Sant Joan (a sweet bread), taste it and enjoy Saint John’s Eve.
