Barcelona is a spectacular city, a place where the sea and mountains merge into a city full of life and colour. And there are so many different things you can do to get an idea of the most modern city in Spain.
Negresco Princess is a Hotel at the centre of Barcelona. We know the city and want to help you explore its main attractions and discover Barcelona on foot:
- Take your time strolling in green areas around the city like the Parc de la Ciutadella, The Parc de Joan Miró, the Park Güell, the Montjuï Castle or the bautiful green labyrinth at the Park of Horta. La Rambla (Les Rambles) is an essential route. It’s an emblematic street in central Barcelona from the Christopher Columbus Monument to Plaça de Catalunya.
- Let yourself be impressed by Gaudí and modernism. Walking around you will see Gaudi’s work like the famous the Sagrada Familia, La Pedrera and Casa Batlló. But there are more buildings by Gaudí in Barcelona such as Palau Güell, Torres Bellesguard or Casa Vicens. You also can see other buildings like Casa Amatller, Palau de la Música or the Hospital de la Santa Creu I Sant Pau.

One of the most fun gastronomic experiences in Catalonia is the calçotadas. A calçotada in Barcelona is a ritual event that includes friends, romesco sauce, bibs and obviously take calçots with your hands. Just be careful with the stains!
The calçots are vegetables like the green onions and the season to eat calçots is from January, February until March.
To eat calçots you requires skill and get your hands dirty. Take the calçot with one hand and with the other remove the layer scorched by the fire. Then dip the calçot in the calçot sauce and eat the inner white part.
Another seasonal product (November to March) is the truffle. This delicacy of the earth has a delicious taste and a delicate and penetrating aroma. That is reason that the Hotel Barcelona Princess brings to the table of its Restaurant The Corner Bar exquisite eggs truffled with truffle of Graus (province of Huesca)
You can taste of this seasonal fungus on the Weekly Menu of The Corner Bar from February, 20 to February 24.
