The culture of Barcelona stays one more night in the hotel and our Negresco Princess Barcelona is once again part of the cultural scene of the city thanks to the TRESC. And with it, nice conversations we are used to come back. We are talking about the Vis à Vis of the TRESC. Quiet chats with four people: a guest of honor, in this case the actor and director Josep Maria Pou, Miquel Curanta (director of the TR3SC), the wine-pairing with a selection of wines from the Agustí Torelló Mata cellar chosen for the occasion and all of us .

What has already been a tradition reaches its 15th edition. A cultural paring where emblematic figures of Catalan culture such as Isabel Coixet, Jofre Llombart, Aina Clotet, Jordi Basté, Queco Novell, Jordi Pujol, Àngel Llàcer, Jordi Savall, Nina, Antoni Basses or Manel Fuertes, among many others have come , to talk about music, theater, science, literature, politics and a many other things. Meetings to talk about life, about the present and about everything, but above all, about culture.

And what could be better than sharing all of this with one of the biggest personality? Cinema, television, radio, theater, direction, … Is there anything that the versatile Josep Maria Pou hasn´t done to perfection? After more than fifty theatrical productions under the management of prestigious directors such as Calixto Bieito in King Lear, Josep Maria Flotats (in “La gavina” and in Angels of America), Mario Gas (Golfus in Rome) or Pilar Miró (The suspicious truth). Masterful characters both in cinema and television, as well as multiple awards and recognitions. What remains for him to do? We’ll have to ask him!

But the city has more great places that are not very known and are as beautiful and original as the ones mentioned above. We show four of these beautiful locations and things to see according the Luxos magazine guide

  1. Tibidabo

Tibidabo is the highest point on top of the Collserola mountain range from there you can see the the whole Barcelona. Besides of the great views, you can find the amusement park of the mountain, were you can have a great time and enjoy even higher  views.

  1. Botero’s Cat

This sculpture by Fernando Botero was purchased by Barcelona’s city council in 1987, but it was positioned permanently in the Raval district only in 2003: up until then, as cats do, it had wandered the city, in sites at the zoo, then the Olympic stadium, then the Medieval shipyards, and finally settling in the Raval district.

  1. The Garden Maze

The Parc del Laberint d’Horta has a hedge maze, a typical feature of aristocratic gardens in the 19th century. It was planned and developed by the Desvalls family from 1791, and the carefully pruned hedges conceal a route leading to the centre where there is a statue of Eros

  1. Palau de la Música

Hidden inside city you can find the magical Palau de la Música, built by Lluís Domènech I Montaner. Anyone who loves the eccentric architecture of Barcelona is sure to admire the organic shapes, colourful staine glass windouws and fine detailing of this concert hall.

You cand find other great places like this ones and other posts with interesting information about Barcelona on the free handy smartphone that you will find in your room of the Hotel Barcelona Princess and the Hotel Negresco Princess.

Negresco, the new reference space for culture in Barcelona

In the Hotel Negresco Princess we have made a collaboration with the most important culture club of Catalonia, the TR3SC, through this union we will make different cultural events in the restaurant and on the terrace of this hotel in Barcelona.

As the director of the Hotel Negresco Princess Jairo Mayolas tells us, the hotel has always felt united to the culture of the city, “the culture is part of our DNA, we have always promoted and rewarded it.”
