Barcelona is also music

Barcelona is the perfect setting that has inspired many singers and artists to include the city in their lyrics or in their videos.

There are many examples. There are songs in all genres, languages, from different moments of Barcelona and artists of different nationalities.

Regarding lyrics, one of the most memorable songs is “Barcelona”, a single released by Queen vocalist Freddie Mercury and the catalan operatic soprano Montserrat Caballé. This song was used as a hymn of the Olympic Games in Barcelona in 1992. By the way, this year precisely Barcelona celebrates 25th anniversary of this sport event. (Video)

Also Barcelona is mentioned in the Soundtrack of the film ‘Vicky Cristina Barcelona’. A film written and directed by Woody Allen and starring by Javier Bardem, Scarlett Johanson and Penélope Cruz. The song is called “Barcelona” and the musicians responsible are Giulia and the Tellarini. (Video)

Shakira is another singer who has mentioned Barcelona in the lyrics of her songs as the song “La Bicicleta” with Carlos Vives but she has also chosen Barcelona and Catalonia as settings in their videos as “Loca”, “Empire” where youcan see the mountains of Montesarrat (Video), “Mi verdad” with Maná or her latest single and video “Déja vu” with Princes Royce.

And more recently the British singer Ed Sheeran composed a song about Barcelona that is included in the Deluxe version of his new album “Divide”. Ed Sheerna admits that he loves Barcelona and in his song “Barcelona” includes Las Ramblas, La Sagrada Familia y la Sangría. (Song)

These songs and other more can be listened as ambient music on the terraces of the Hotels Princess Hotels & Resorts in Barcelona. Come to the terrace The Gym Bar at the Hotel Barcelona Princess or La Terrazza at Hotel Negresco Princess, drink a cocktail, eat tapas and enjoy while you dance to the rythm of Barcelona.
