From April 12 to May 6, Negresco Restaurant replaces its daily menu and “ a la carte” to participate one more year in this solidary initiative of eltenedor.es. Solidary and gastronomyc since more than 300 restaurants in Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, Malaga and Valencia participate in this campaign.
On this occasion, the best restaurants in Barcelona, including the Negresco Restaurant, offer sustainable and exclusive menus at a fixed and reduced price. In addition, for each menu, 1 euro goes to the solidarity projects of the NGO Ayuda En Acción.

Once again, the Negresco Restaurant reopens the doors to the world of Barcelona culture and does so with a very tight schedule. Do you want to know what awaits us these months in the Negresco Restaurant?
In the Negresco Restaurant we start the season with many cultural activities that will take place during the month of April and May.
As usual, the Negresco Restaurant joins Barcelona’s writers, enabling the spaces of the Hotel Negresco Princess and the restaurant to the different cultural formats that are happening in the city.
Sant Jordi is coming soon, and literature has an important place throughout the month of April with the literary dinners organized by the TresC culture club. After the good experiences with Joan Lluís Bozzo, Francesc Torralba and Antoni Bassas, we opened the season with Martí Gironell (April 4) and Màrius Serra (April 5). An intimate format in which to talk with your favorite authors in a relaxed and enjoyable dinner, discover characters, travel to different locations, examine every detail, in short, a unique opportunity to live a novel in a very different way.
Who said that book presentations are boring? We don´t think so. The Negresco Restaurant is an ideal space for new presentations That´s what the journalist Agnès Marquès thinks and on April 14 she will present her book “Els guapos són els raros” in a very special way … Doing a literary aperitif! Also on the 19th we will have the opportunity to present the new novel by Pep Prieto, “Carnada”, together with the journalist Jordi Basté.
But as well as literature there is also theater! And cinema! That is why we continue to welcome the Vis à Vis of the TresC with important personalities of the national cultural world, including Silvia Munt (April 10), one of the most valued female characters of the Catalan cultural scene. A multifaceted actress and cinema and theater director who has received numerous awards – several Goya Awards – she has given us great works, among the most recent ones, “Las chicas de Mossbank Road” and “El Precio”. And Nausicaa Bonnín (3 de amyo), the young Catalan actress who already has a long and intense career in the world of acting. On television, we have seen her in series such as “El cor de la ciutat”, “Sagrada familia”, “La luz de Elna” or “Citas”; in the theater, “Las brujas de Salem” or “Don Juan”; and in cinema, “Tres días con la familia”, “El cuerpo” or “Elisa K”.

But … and the music? After the first experience with “Sentits del Vi” a few months ago, we want to repeat! If music can remind you of a movie or a place, why not a wine or a gastronomic “tapa”? Sentits del Vi returns, the Barcelona version of the enomusical pairing that the TR3SC Club celebrates every year at the Live Music Market in Vic! And this time, in a very special session since the Club Tr3sC celebrates its 12th anniversary with us!
Xavier Barba, The fantastic sommelier, will guide a tasting of 4 wines DO Penedès wines, paired with the music of 4 Catalan artists and 4 author “tapas” that the Negresco Restaurant chef, Jon García, will create for the occasion. In addition, we will have the honor of being able to listen live to the musical of XARIM ARESTÉ, BIG MAMA, JARPS and JU. A game of senses in a unique space!

Pep Prieto presents a new novel with the title of Carnada (Bridge Editorial), and he does it in the best company, in our house. Once again, Negresco Restaurant welcomes the arrival of a new book and does so with its author, Pep Prieto, with the journalist Jordi Basté and with the socialist politician Miquel Iceta.
The Negresco Princess Hotel insist on becoming a place of reference within the cultural world of the city and does so together with its ally in culture, the TresC club. This time with the presentation of the new novel by Pep Prieto together with the journalist Jordi Basté and the socialist politician Miquel Iceta, who will accompany the author discovering this funny novel full of unexpected events.
The story tells the adventures of Pep and Andreu, two journalists and good friends who receive the order to recover a USB that contains a very compromising information for the Government. It turns out to be much more than this: what they see shows that Catalonia is heading to the Apocalypse. They have never felt part of this world, but now they will want to save it. The writer and critic of Catalan cinema, brings us a story of friendship, sex, action … and zombies. God saves us!

After two years and four semifinals held in Barcelona, Bilbao and Seville, on April 19, at the Alimentaria 2018 fair in Barcelona, the grand finale of the 7th Cook of the Year Contest will take place.
The Cook of the Year Contest is a national gastronomic contest, with Martín Berasategui as President and Jordi Cruz as Vicepresident, who was the winner of the first edition in 2006.
32 chefs participated in the four great semifinals of this VII edition but only the two best chefs of each semifinal will be presented to the final in the Alimentaria 2018 fair.
Among the 8 best chefs of the Chef of the Year Contest we can find Chef Pedro Montolio together with David Bourg, from the Barcelona Princess Hotel who were first classified in the 1st Semifinal held last November 2016 in Barcelona.
The winning menu of Pedro and David during the semifinal was:
– Starter: White garlic with mackerel ceviche and acid apple salad, celery and grape
– Main dish: Scallop and jowl with peas, vegetables, mushrooms and air of mushrooms
– Tiramisu with liquid coffee inside, Amaretto and creamy chocolate with tonka bean.
The other 7 classified chefs that reached the final are Álvaro Salazar of Argos Restaurant (1 *) (Port de Pollença, Palma de Mallorca), Rubén Osorio Castañón, chef of Ergo restaurant in Miranda del Ebro, (Burgos), José David Fernández Portales, head chef of the Pabellón restaurant (Madrid), Asier Alcalde of the restaurant Laia in Hondarribia (Guipúzcoa), Daniel García of the Aboiz restaurant in Garai (Vizcaya), Francisco Javier Feixas, head chef of La Borraja restaurant in San Nicolás (Granada) and Antonio Rodríguez Bort, chef of the Ispal Restaurant (Sevilla), last cooks classified in the last semifinal of the Chef of the Year Contest in Seville.
An extraordinary jury will have the difficult task of choosing the winner of the VI Cook of the Year Contest.

David explains us that they will continue with the 360 Gastronomy of the Hotel Barcelona Princess with a Mediterranean cuisine with modern touches and products of sea and mountain.
