Thank you very much to all who had joined the cause at the Garmin Barcelona Triathlon charity challenge so far, we are thrilled to know that you are there supporting it.
A few weeks ago we launched our Garmin Charity Challenge which consists on a campaign to raise funds for research on X- ALD X-linked Adrenoleukodystrophy, a rare disease which we’ve met for the particular case of Moisés, a former hotel worker.
We took the challenge of raising €1,500 and WE HAVE SUCCEEDED in less than 1 week!
As we announced a few weeks ago we are again, for the third consecutive year, the Official Hotel of one of the most important triathlons in Europe, the Garmin Barcelona Triathlon 2015.
We want to introduce the solidarity challenge this year, an initiativethat comes from inside the hotel and why we are specially thrilled.
This year we want to help Miguel, our former teammate Moisés’s son, who has been diagnosed with X-linked Adrenoleukodystrophy (X_ALD) a rare disease that develops in the brain and affects mainly boys between 4 and 10 years.
When Moisés told us his case we felt as identified as interested in the world of rare diseases. Gradually we discovered the lack of knowledge there is about it and the great effort made by research institutes and hospitals to study treatments, achieving to improve the lives of patients.
